Real Estate Development Industry Group

The goal of the Masters in Real Estate Development Industry Group is to create a strong network of Masters in Real Estate Development alumni in an effort to enhance personal and professional connections among alumni members through networking and other social events, to foster continued knowledge gain through education and instruction based programs, and to aid in the expansion and promotion of the Masters in Real Estate Development program at George Mason University.

Programming

Masters in Real Estate Development Industry Group events will have a social, educational, or charitable focus and will be held at least quarterly.

Whitebread

Joe Whitebread, MS Real Estate Development '15
Land Acquisition Manager, PulteGroup

Joe Whitebread is a licensed civil engineer with five years experience in real estate investment, and more than 10 years of experience in real estate and land development. In his role as a land acquisition manager for PulteGroup, he has been an integral part of Pulte’s Mid-Atlantic Division acquisition team which has contracted 34 communities with over 4,100 home sites representing a total investment of ~$800M since November 2014.
While enrolled in the MRED program, he was a key member of George Mason's winning development team that competed in the 2015 NAIOP MD/DC Capital Challenge, a real estate development competition between several graduate real estate programs in the region. After graduating, Whitebread was instrumental in the founding of the Masters of Real Estate Development Industry Group (MOREDIG) within the School of Business Alumni Chapter in 2016, along with several other classmates.

Tyler Kasak '18
Member
Asset Manager, U.S. General Service Administration (GSA)

Tyler Kasak is a decorated Air Force veteran currently serving as an asset manager with the U.S. General Service Administration (GSA), where he is responsible for strategic investment planning for a 7.5M square foot portfolio consisting of office and warehouse space in the federal government’s Washington, D.C., region. Prior to joining the GSA, he served for six years in the United States Air Force. During his six years of military service, Kasak worked as an aerospace propulsion technician as well as a ceremonial honor guardsman for funerals and events. He holds an MS in real estate development from George Mason University, and a BS in business/finance from Wilminton University (2015).

Commercial Lender and Assistant Vice President, John Marshall Bank

Kevin Keegan is a commercial lender and assistant vice president at John Marshall Bank. Keegan works from the bank’s Washington, D.C., office working with builders, developers, and property owners throughout the district. He specializes in non-owner occupied commercial and residential real estate secured transactions, including acquisition, development, construction, and permanent lending. Prior to joining John Marshall Bank, he was a real estate portfolio manager at United Bank and Cardinal Bank, and has a background in credit analysis. Keegan holds a BS in finance with a specialization in real estate from The University of Alabama (2015) and an MS in real estate development from George Mason University.

Commercial Lender and Assistant Vice President, John Marshall Bank

Kristin Norris is a commercial lender and assistant vice president at John Marshall Bank, focusing on commercial real estate financing to local builders, developers, and investors. She specializes in residential acquisition, development, and construction lending. Her primary role is to structure real estate transactions that ensure minimal risk for the bank while also meeting the expectations of her clients. She currently has a loan portfolio of over $100 million in committed funding across 40 client relationships. Prior to joining John Marshall Bank, Kristin was a real estate portfolio manager at United Bank and also gained experience in other areas of banking at Cardinal Bank and The Business Bank. She holds a BS in education from Florida State University (2010) and an MS in real estate development from George Mason University.
