Phillip G. Buchanan Faculty Fellowship

Phil BuchananDr. Phillip Buchanan has been part of the Mason community for over 30 years, having joined the School of Management faculty in 1981. During his tenure, he has worn many hats having served as director of the Graduate Programs in Accounting and Taxation, director of the MBA program, and founding advisor to the Theta Alpha Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accounting fraternity.

Having taught over 6,000 students, Dr. Buchanan is held in high esteem as having left a lasting mark on their collegiate experience. Most commonly, School of Management alumni describe him as a tough but caring professor who guided them through the intricacies of accounting and on towards a successful career.

In an effort to show loyalty to and honor Dr. Buchanan, a number of alumni have sought to mark his impact at Mason in a long-lasting way. As a result, The Phillip G. Buchanan Faculty Fellowship was created in celebration of Dr. Buchanan’s retirement in January 2013. The fellowship will support Mason’s most popular program by attracting and retaining top accounting faculty.

We ask that you join in the celebration of Dr. Buchanan’s legacy and contribute to the continued success of our accounting program as it provides a quality education to Mason’s hard-working students.
