The Summer Intern – Accounting will work with the accounting department – spending part of their time within the accounts receivable, accounts payable and FGO accounting groups to ensure a broad exposure to accounting/finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Journal Entries – recurring and general
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Review and approve weekly accounts payable batches
  • Reconcile bank statement monthly for several accounts
  • Analyze and reconcile income statement accounts on a monthly basis
  • Receive and enter invoices
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Reconcile bank statements on a daily basis

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Download various sales information from Radiant
  • File invoices on a weekly basis
  • Automate excel files to improve efficiency
  • Work with other team members to meet deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have a High School Diploma or GED. 2 + years completed of college in pursuit of accounting/finance Bachelor’s degree (accounting preferred).

Language Ability:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are preferred. The successful candidate/employee will be required to use written and/or oral communication. The position requires the ability to write correspondences. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos is necessary. It also requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures and memos.

Math Ability:

The position requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This requires excellent business math and accounting skills, which includes the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.

Reasoning Ability:

This position requires organizational skills and the ability to manage several ongoing tasks; proficient in multi-tasking.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Outlook and other appropriate software. Operates a variety of office machines, including copier and fax machine.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Physical Demands:

This position may require long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. There may also be extensive lifting of supplies and materials. The use of hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects is required.
