New ISOM Course for Spring: E-Business Systems Development II

MIS 491-004: E-Business Systems Development II

Prerequisite: One of the following: MIS 412, MIS 310, MIS 302 (or similar)

Course Description
This course focuses on the server side of web-based information systems and builds upon the concepts covered in E-Business Systems Development I, therefore MIS 412 is a prerequisite. Students who also have taken MIS 310, Database Management Systems, or MIS 302: Introduction to Programming for Business Applications (or similar) may also register.

This course covers basic server setup, database and MVC frameworks (Laravel) as well as client side Javascript frameworks (Angular). Also covered are client and server side template languages, AJAX endpoints, and REST service creation. Topics in security and code management will also be covered. Students will make use of a Virtual Machine in order to build the class project, with code being managed and submitted via a GIT code repository.
