Study Abroad this Winter! Organizational Psychology in Italy – Applications Close October 9th

The following program has been approved to meet the co-curricular requirement of the International Business minor.

Organizational Psychology in Italy

Credits Offered: PSYC 379, PSYC 461, PSYC 592, PSYC 733

This course will delve into the wonders of Rome and Florence, both modern and ancient, but from a unique perspective: the business side. What does it take to run a museum? How do you design a system for selecting museum curators? What influence did Machiavelli have on leadership practices? What makes a good tour guide? What would a tour guide credentialing system look like? And on the ancient side of things: How did Hannibal defeat larger forces with his ragtag mix of Carthaginians, Celts, Gauls, etc.? How did Constantine cobble together a coalition of wildly different religions? Why were Hadrian and Vespasian effective but Nero not? We will explore the cities and surrounding areas, and engage in discussion of applicable psychological and business concepts.
