MKTG 462: The Practice of Marketing is a special offering for Fall 2018. Do not let the 400-level course number intimidate you. This is the first time it has been offered, and it may be a “pop-up” course. There are no definite plans to offer this again in the 2018-19 Academic Year.

The course is limited to a small number of students—students who are serious about working in the field of marketing. We will be bringing marketing practitioners to meet with students and discuss how they use the discipline. This is not about theory; it’s about using what you’ve learned on a day-to-day basis, earning money from what you’ve learned.

If you are interested in becoming an Honors student in Marketing, you should consider this course. The Area is shaping its Honors program, and MKTG 462 is designated as an Honors course. You don’t have to be an Honors student, but if you think you’d like to be, you should give this course serious consideration.

The course is being taught by Jeff Kulick, who had a long career in marketing, planning and management before coming to Mason. He is already lining up speakers for the Fall.

Due to the nature of the course, enrollment is by permission of the instructor and department. We are looking for students who have already had some marketing courses, and who are used to getting good grades. If you think you might be interested, let us know – please email jkulick@gmu.edu.
