About Us

Government Blockchain Association (GBA) is an International Professional Association and a US-based non-profit, membership organization that consists of individuals and organizations that are interested in promoting blockchain related solutions to government requirements. GBA creates relationships that would otherwise not come about – between and among technologists, public policy makers, application specialists and those who simply need to understand the new and emerging digital currencies that will change the world. GBA will act as a catalyst in creating a public dialogue around the creative, profitable and positive leveraging of blockchain in the government sector. We are looking for students who are excited to make an impact and get to work at the forefront of this transformative technology.

Internship Position: Events Management Intern

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations at GBA, the intern will provide assistance with our events. He or she will be in contact with various leaders at GBA who are hosting or planning on hosting an event. Our association has members all over the world, but the main events would be local to the DC metro area. The intern would help plan and resource the events, as well as being one of the main points of contact. Fielding phone calls and emails are important aspects of this role.

Pay per hour: $10

Location: GBA offices are located on 10560 Main St #608, Fairfax, VA 22030. We are only a few blocks away from George Mason University and only a block away from one of the stops on the Cue bus.

Time Commitment: Our office is open 9am-5pm, but we are flexible and will work around your class schedule. We are looking for interns who are willing to work 15-20 hours a week.

Responsibilities: 

Support Director of Operations and others on the GBA staff in the planning and execution of events. The intern will be responsible for reaching out to speakers, venues, and attendees. Being organized, clear, and prompt are important skills for this job.

Qualifications:

  • Team player with positive energy
  • Creative and willing to find solutions
  • Organized
  • Able to perform basic computer processing skills, including MS office and web applications (like Calendly, WordPress, etc.)
  • Quick learner – ability to receive feedback in a positive manner
  • Excellent written & verbal skills (esp. with email & phone calls)
  • Friendly attitude and helpful

Our interns will receive handson experience that will be valuable in many different spheres, whether corporate, non-profit, or government related.

The prospective intern would also receive a free two year Professional Membership with GBA, which will allow them to use the website to network, join groups, and upload content.
