  • Design and Development of Micro-Units for the National Capital Region
    Co-sponsored with the American Institute of Architects (AIA)

           Wednesday, February 26
           AIA offices (1735 New York Avenue, Washington, DC)
           8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

With a focus on the market potential for 300- to 400-square-foot residential units in this area, this day-long conference will cover lessons learned from New York City’s experiences, local barriers (entitlements and finance), regional case studies (including PN Hoffmans’s The Wharf) and a look at innovative architectural considerations that help make micro-units livable.

  • Northern Virginia Apartment Summit:  Market Forecasts and Operational Trends
    Co-Sponsored with the Northern Virginia Apartment Association

             Tuesday, March 18
              Hilton Alexandria Mark Center (5000 Seminary Road, Alexandria)
              8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This one-day conference will be divided into morning sessions reviewing the Northern Virginia apartment market in 2013 and forecasting its performance in 2014.  The afternoon will feature break-out sessions on apartment social marking and best practices in green building management.
