Looking Ahead at Sustainability in Corporate America
On Monday, November 11, we will officially launch the Business for a Better World Center with the first of our Sustainability Speaker Series and the introduction of a School of Business Sustainability case competition.

3:00 p.m: Looking Ahead at Sustainability in Corporate America, Jeff Foote

The Business for a Better World Center at the George Mason School of Business welcomes Jeff Foote, a leading expert in corporate sustainability, as the inaugural speaker in the Business for a Better World Speakers Series. Jeff is currently Principal of Special Projects for the Southface Institute, and Sustainability Consultant, Global Ventures for the Coca-Cola Company. He previously worked as Executive Vice President for TreeZero Paper, and Director of Sustainability Strategy, and Venturing and Emerging Brands, for Coca-Cola North America. Jeff’s goal is to serve, inspire, and lead individuals and organizations to restore, conserve, and sustain financial, human, and natural capital.

4:00 p.m: Student Sustainability Challenge, Case Competition Launch

The Student Sustainability Challenge, which will kick off during the event, will engage teams of students paired with a mentor to identify and develop a strategy to address a sustainability challenge faced by Mason, and the school of business in particular. The Student Sustainability Challenge culminates with a pitch competition in late April (date TBA). The winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to a student social-impact conference.
