Anne Altman is the former general manager of IBM Corporation's U.S Federal Government and Industries sector. In this role, Altman was responsible for the strategy, direction, development of solutions, and sales for driving IBM's multi-billion business with Federal Government Clients in the United States. Known as a transformational leader, she has often been tapped to address complex business challenges within IBM and on behalf of clients. Most notably, she helped establish IBM's footprint as a major force in the U.S. Federal market; and led the company's server hardware business during the most important product launch in the history of the mainframe business – the System z mainframe.

Altman is a recipient of the prestigious Eagle Award, one of the highest honors issued to technology partners serving the Federal market. In addition, her outstanding contributions to the information technology industry and its clients include: Federal Computer Week's Top Federal 100, Washingtonian Magazine Top Tech Titans, Washington's 100 Most Powerful Women, the AFFIRM Leadership Award for Industry, and the CIO Council's Azimuth Award for the Industry Executive of the Year. Altman sits on the Board of Directors of SPXFlow Inc, as well as the Treasurer for the NSO and Vice Chairman of NVTC.

Her professional success and tireless support of her alma mater were recognized in 2011 when she was honored as Mason's School of Business Alumna of the Year.

Cheryl Amyx is an entrepreneur and business leader, specializing in strategic planning, program management and leadership coaching. She is the former owner of the Government contracting firm, Amyx, Inc., and is the founder of 4CEO, Inc., providing business consulting and coaching for CEOs. Amyx was instrumental in the establishment of the SBA Federal Contracting Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) Program 8(m), acting as Co-Chair of the Procurement Committee for a lobbying group supporting Federal legislation for women-owned businesses. She is the recipient of numerous industry awards including: Washington Business Journal Women Who Mean Business Award, Enterprising Women Magazine Honoree, Top Most Influential Women in Business, Washington Technology Fast 50, and MD and VA Deloitte Technology Fast 50.

Amyx received her MS in information management from Marymount University, a BA in communications from George Mason University, Finance Strategy for Executives through Dartmouth University, and has a Certification in Leadership Coaching from George Mason University.

John Backus is a seasoned technology investor and entrepreneur with over twenty-five years of experience investing in and managing rapidly growing companies. Before becoming a venture capitalist, he co-founded US Order, which revolutionized online banking, went public on the NASDAQ in 1995 and was ultimately sold to Checkfree.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), and is the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Colon Cancer Alliance Foundation. Backus is Chairman Emeritus for both the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. He has served as a technology policy adviser to Virginia Governors Gilmore, Warner and McDonnell, has appeared on CNBC, written opinion pieces in The Venture Capital Journal, The Washington Post, Tech Crunch, Fortune and VentureBeat and is often asked to comment on the venture capital industry by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Inc. Magazine. Backus began his career at Bain & Co. in the Silicon Valley office, and spent time working out of the Bain Tokyo office while on assignment in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was asked to join the first Bain Capital company as its CFO, where he received a high level security clearance, and spent five years supporting the Stealth fighter program and the Desert Shield Operation in the Middle East.

Allie serves as COO at Village Capital, bringing more than 16 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and innovators at the intersection of tech and social change. She previously served as a senior executive at Revolution and the Case Foundation, the venture capital firm and private family foundation created by former AOL executives Jean and Steve Case, where she led the organizations' communications and marketing teams. She also held positions at Discovery, AOL and Atlas Venture among others. Burns is a graduate of Boston University and holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Eileen M. Ellsworth has been the President of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia since 2005. With $37 million in managed assets, the Community Foundation engages donors to help grow philanthropy in the region. During her 10 years as President, Ellsworth has grown the Community Foundation’s discretionary grant making levels from $12,000 in 2005 to $506,000 in 2014. She created the Future Fund, a giving circle for young professionals in Northern Virginia, created the Loudoun Impact Fund for strategic philanthropic investments in Loudoun County, created the Healthy Kids Grants to promote children’s health and help prevent childhood obesity, created the Innovation Fund to support programs that nurture inventiveness, creativity and new design, and launched the new Business Women’s Giving Circle to support women’s entrepreneurship and STEM education for girls. She led Community Foundation efforts to commission and publish the first ever Child and Youth Needs Assessment across the region, and in 2014, the Community Foundation published two additional comprehensive needs assessments – one addressing the needs of the aging population and the second addressing the needs of military personnel, veterans and their families in Northern Virginia.

An attorney by training, Ellsworth was a trial attorney in private practice in Connecticut and New York and later the General Counsel of Best Software in Reston, VA. Eileen serves on the Community Foundation National Standards Board, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Loudoun County CEO Cabinet. She lives in Oakton with her husband Bob Weil.

To honor the millions of business executives and workers worldwide who quietly accomplish innovative and extraordinary things in the workplace every day, Michael Gallagher founded the Stevie® Awards in 2002. The name Stevie comes from the Greek name Stefanos, which means "crowned." Prior to founding the Stevie Awards, Gallagher focused his energies on marketing, sales, and product development, including serving as Vice President of Sales & Marketing with the Hoover's Media Technologies division of Hoover's Inc., the leading provider of information on public and private companies worldwide. Most recently, he was vice president of Sales & Marketing with Amazing Media, an online advertising company. Gallagher holds a bachelor of arts from Fordham University in New York City and a master of business administration from George Mason University. Gallagher was president of the alumni chapter in 2011-13 and was also a Director at Large.

Mark Gottlieb has been an entrepreneur most of his life. His first major company was DesignTech International which produced over $125 million in consumer electronic products. Mostly automotive and telephone accessories. His last company was LogicMark, LLC which produced a line of Personal Emergency Response System for the home healthcare market. This company received the honor of making the INC 500/5000 awards the last two years for its record growth before he sold the company in 2011.

Gottlieb has earned two masters degrees from Stanford University. One in Engineering Management (IE) and the other in Product Design (ME). After graduate school, he worked as a consultant for SRI International and taught as an Associate professor at George Washington University. He has been awarded 25 US patents. Gottlieb is active in the angel investing area supporting and mentoring several start-ups. He has several other Board positions and is also active in the community. He lives in Fairfax Station with his wife Sharon.

Houlihan Lokey

Jerry Grossman completed his career at Houlihan Lokey’s Washington, D.C. office in 2014. He was co-head of the ADG group, a premier investment banking practice representing leading industry companies in merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions, providing fairness opinions and sourcing capital. He was a regular contributor on industry M&A, strategy and value creation dynamics to Washington Technology, a national magazine for government contractors, as well as a frequent speaker at industry events.

Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Grossman held senior positions in financial advisory, strategic consulting and corporate banking organizations. He earned a BS in industrial management at Penn State University and an Executive MBA from Loyola College in Maryland. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63).

Sheila Herrling leads foundation efforts to develop and implement mission-driven domestic and international initiatives, expand tech for good platforms, leverage partnerships, promote entrepreneurial approaches to social change, and build a robust portfolio of social and impact investments.

She possesses over 20 years of experience in international development and U.S. foreign policy, focused on aid innovation and effectiveness, monitoring and evaluation, and economic analysis. Herrling spent five years as Senior Vice President for Policy and Evaluation at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). She also served as Senior Policy Director at the Center for Global Development (CGD) and in senior management positions at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Herrling additionally served as a senior advisor on the Obama administration’s foreign policy transition team.

She holds an M.A. from American University’s School of International Service with a focus in International Development and Development Finance, and a B.A. in Economics from William Smith College. She serves on the Advisory Boards of Publish What You Fund, and the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Council at George Mason University’s School of Business.

Sumeet Shrivastava is an accomplished executive and proven business leader with more than two decades of experience in the government IT industry. As president of ARRAY, he provides overall corporate leadership for the company's growth strategy. Prior to ARRAY, Shrivastava was SVP for Public Sector at Keane (now NTT Data). As EVP and COO of ANSTEC, a Government IT contractor, he architected the company's acquisition by Keane. He has been committed to the Mason and regional community throughout his career. He has served as a member of George Mason University's Diversity Advisory Board and is currently on the School of Business Innovation & Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. He has also served on the Board of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and Chaired the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Committee. Shrivastava was chosen as part of the inaugural class for the 20 Prominent Patriots in Business.

Wince has presided over the company's successful transformation from a small start-up company to a leading provider of cybersecurity services to public and private sector organizations. 

Wince holds a BS in business administration and finance from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of George Mason University's Executive MBA program with a concentration in National Defense.
