Joseph Mortati is an adjunct professor teaching business information systems and operations and project management.  He also teaches at The John Hopkins University and the University of Maryland, College Park.

He has worked in the private sector for 15 years in a variety of business and technical roles on software development projects, including 10 years running his own consulting practice.  Prior to that he served in the Air Force for 10 years, flying supersonic fighters and managing joint training exercises.  In 2013, he published his first book, "Collision Course - How Good Business Decisions Sank the Titanic and Why."
