Román joined the Accounting Area at George Mason in January 2013. Previously, he served on the faculties at Texas Tech University and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, where he taught financial and cost accounting courses in both the undergraduate and MBA programs.

Román comes to Mason with corporate finance and accounting experience with Fortune 500 companies Motorola and Becton Dickinson, having worked at factories in Mexico and the U.S.


His research has been published in the Journal of Financial EconomicsJournal of Management Accounting Research, and Accounting, Organizations and Society.
