Kelly Wentland joined the accounting faculty at Mason in fall 2015. Prior to coming to George Mason, she was an AICPA Accounting Doctoral Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her primary research interests are in taxation, accounting information, and firm decision making. Before entering her PhD program, she completed her bachelor’s in accounting and mass communication at Miami University of Ohio and worked in KPMG’s Washington, D.C., and Tysons Corner, VA offices from 2006-2010 first in audit and then in tax. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia.
Received a Research Award for her dissertation titled "The Effect of Industrial Diversification on Firm Taxes" from AAA/Grant Thornton in 2015.
