Petacchi earned his doctorate degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from Catholic University in Milan, Italy. He has several years of teaching experience at universities around the world, including Catholic University, the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, and Suffolk University. Petacchi has also been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan and University of Florida and Georgetown University.
Petacchi's research interests are in contract theory, performance measure and compensation. His research has been published in The Accounting Review, and the Journal of Theoretical Accounting Research.
Before pursuing his graduate studies, Petacchi worked as a consultant in a boutique consulting firm in Italy. He is currently a Certified Public Accountant in the European Union.
His research has been published in The Accounting Review, the Journal of Financial Reporting and the Journal of Theoretical Accounting Research.
