John H. Crockett, Jr. is presently a professor of finance. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Prior to joining the George Mason faculty, Crockett was a member of the faculty at the University of Houston, where he served as chairman of the department of finance. He has been a visiting faculty member at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and while on leave from university appointment, he worked as a financial economist at the Federal Home Loan Bank Board.

Crockett's teaching interests include investments, corporate finance, managerial economics, and corporate strategy. He has also taught in programs conducted by the Economic Development Institute of The World Bank in Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Kazakstan.

Crockett has published articles on topics in finance and economics in a variety of academic and managerial publications. He has completed consulting assignments for numerous organizations, including corporations, government agencies, and trade associations. He has also been actively involved in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, having been a member of the Candidate Curriculum Committee and the Council of Examiners of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts.
