Applications of financial theory principally to valuation problems confronting organizations and how not for profit businesses attempt to resolve these problems.

Robert Johnston is an associate professor of finance in the School of Business at George Mason Unversity. He serves as a consultant to the World Bank and was a Fulbright Scholar in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in the Spring of 1999.

Johnston has been a professor and administrator at Mason for more than 30 years. He has received the University's Distinguished Faculty Award and twice received the MBA Association Faculty of the Year Award.

Johnston has co-authored many articles that have appeared in Journal of Business and Economic Studies, Journal of Midwest Finance Association, American Business Review, Technical Topics, and Mortgage Banking. He has a broad range of consulting experience including an expert witness in trust fund litigation, financial valuation, cost of capital analysis, and leasing.
