Profile:

Ayhan Aydin received his PhD in Management Science/Operations Management and MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2012. A native of Turkey, he holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Sabanci University- Istanbul, in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Industrial Engineering, respectively. 

His current research interests are: Economics of Innovation in Supply Chains, Networks and Web Content Delivery, and Dynamic Games. He enjoys using mathematical modeling, primarily optimization models and game theory to drive managerial and policy insights from real-world problems faced by companies. His most recent research is about understanding which supply chain structures are more conducive to innovation investments, which is inspired through close collaboration with a Boston-based web-content delivery firm, Akamai. He is also an active member of academic societies including INFORMS, POMS, and MSOM.

Research and Awards:

Presented the paper titled, “Effects of Consumer Demand, Profitability, and Riskiness of a Core Technology on Upstream Investments and Diffusion” at the POMS International Conference in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2017.

Presented the paper titled, “Pricing of New Product Technologies in Supply Chains and Technology Markets” at the POMS Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington in 2017.

Presented the paper titled, “Innovation and Technology Diffusion in Competitive Supply Chains” at the University of Utah Product-Service Innovation Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2016 (with coauthor Rodney Parker).

Presented the paper titled, “Effects of Consumer Demand, Profitability, and Riskiness of a Core Technology on Upstream Investments” at the POMS Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida in 2016.
