5th Annual Alumni Celebration: Honoring Our Alumni and Students

Nearly 200 School of Business (School of Business) alumni and guests braved the rain to attend the 5th Annual Alumni Celebration sponsored by The Martin Agency. The evening was a celebration of School of Business alumni and students. Winners for the Emerging Business Leader Awards and the Young Alumni Awards were announced.

jhudson-awardJulie Hudson, a Mason MBA student and Johnny Amin, a junior majoring in accounting each received an Emerging Business Leader Award. Presented by the School of Business Alumni Chapter, the Emerging Business Leader Awards annually recognize a graduate and an undergraduate student who have demonstrated the desire and aptitude to become an outstanding business leader and a distinguished representative of Mason's School of Business.

Hudson, class of 2011, is a part-time student with a 3.95 GPA. Currently, she is employed by ADI Technologies, Inc. in McLean, Virginia as a marketing associate. She specializes in contract management for international clients working extensively within the context of the Department of Defense export controls and U.S. Customs processes. Relative to her educational studies and work experiences, Hudson has traveled to Spain and Nicaragua to study the languages, the cultures and the effects of globalization.jamin-award

Amin, class of 2012, has actively participated in community service projects on the global scale. During his freshman year, he worked with a Fairfax County high school to produce a school supply drive which raised eighty pounds of school materials to benefit children in Kenya and Tanzania. In addition, he was awarded a U.S. Department of Education grant for research and studies in Beijing and Shanghai, China on global management.

bwadhawan-awardWadhawan is president and chief executive officer of Link Solutions, Inc., in Reston, Virginia. As founder and chief executive officer, he built the company from one full-time employee in 2007 to over seventy-five employees and revenues in excess of $7 million annually in 2010. Leading his company through volunteerism, Wadhawan is a newly elected member of the George Mason University Alumni Association Board of Directors and has participated in or contributed to the March of Dimes (March for Babies), the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and the Reston Interfaith Donation Drive.
