George Mason Students

To declare a School of Business major—accounting, finance, information systems and operations management, management or marketing—contact the Office of Academic and Career Services (703-993-1880) to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor who will provide information on major choices, required courses, and the admission process for the School of Business.

The advisor will sign the Change/Declaration of Academic Program form and advise you on appropriate classes for your next semester.

To change your major from the School of Business to another at Mason, schedule a change of major appointment with your new major department. If you are uncertain of what major you want to declare, contact University Academic Advising located in Room 304 of SUB I (703-993-2470) to explore other majors.

Complete the top portion of the Change/Declaration of Academic Program form, have your new department sign it, and bring the form to the Office of Academic and Career Services, Room 008 of Enterprise Hall for signature. The completed form then goes to the Registrar for final processing.

If you select a non-School of Business major, you may wish to consider selecting a business minor. For more information about our minor, click here.

Double Major in the School of Business
If you are currently declared in BS status for one of the School of Business’s majors and wish to add another School of Business major, you should complete the Change/Declaration of Academic Program form and bring it to Office of Academic and Career Services, Room 008 of Enterprise Hall, for advisor review and processing. All requirements for the two School of Business majors must be completed prior to graduation. It is recommended that you schedule an academic advising appointment to discuss the proposed double major and do a long-term plan towards graduation.
