How to Study Abroad

To study abroad, work with both the George Mason Global Education Office and your School of Business academic advisor to develop your plan.

  1. Meet with your advisor to see if you are a good candidate for studying abroad.
  2. Decide where you want to go! Meet with the Global Education Office in the Johnson Center, (rm 235).
  3. Apply and complete the necessary forms!
  4. Bring the COMPLETED Petition for Transfer of Credits form and syllabus for your chosen courses to your academic advisor to review and submit for approval.
    • As a School of Business student, you should bring the approval form to other departments first and to the School of Business last. For example, if you are requesting to take ECON 103, bring the PTC form the College of Humanities and Social Sciences first and then to the School of Business for final signatures.
  5. Enjoy your experience!
    • Make sure to have the transcript from your time abroad sent back to Mason for your courses to count.
