  1. Am I a member of the chapter?

    If you graduated from a School of Business program, you are automatically a School of Business Alumni Chapter member. 

  2. How can I get involved?

    You can run for position on the chapter board. If you aren’t ready for that, you can join as a Friend of the Board. Friends of the Board participate in chapter meetings, attend events, and can join one our committees, fundraising, events and programing, outreach, silent auction, and industry specific.

    If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Board, please email bizalum@gmu.edu with your headshot and a 150 word bio that will be used for the website. Also, indicate on which committee you would like to participate.

    Membership is free!

  4. What is the purpose of the School of Business Alumni Chapter?

    Its mission is to enhance the interests and reputation of the School of Business and to achieve a closer fellowship between alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the community. The chapter also encourages support for scholarship, promotes professional development of students and alumni, and fosters a sense of pride and commitment to the university.

  5. What kind of events does the chapter host?

    Open to all 30,000+ Mason business alumni, the chapter hosts regional and industry related happy hours, the Annual Business Celebration, and events at Mason basketball games. Our events are always listed on the School of Business website calendar

  6. Who runs the chapter?

    The School of Business Alumni Chapter is a recognized chapter under the George Mason University Alumni Association. The chapter is governed by a Board of Directors who are Mason business alumni and are elected by Mason business alumni with voting membership status. Chapter officers serve a one-year term.
