Meet the New Team at the Office of Sponsored Programs

If you have a question about grant proposals and funding, there is a new team at the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) that would like you to reach out to them: (from left in photo below) Elizabeth Hale-Salice, senior grants administrator; Andrew Sprecher, research administration manager; and Shamekia Davis, grants specialist. Not pictured: Lindsay Holyfield, Senior Research Administrator(starting June 16th).

A recent reorganization within OSP assigned Sprecher and his team to the School of Business, along with the following campus units:

· Volgenau School of Engineering
· School of Public Policy, Government and International Affairs
· College of Education and Human Development
· School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution

OSP teamIn an email, OSP Associate Vice President of Research Operations Mike Laskofski explained the benefits of new arrangement:

“Given the variability of policies and administrative structures within the academic units, the new structure will allow OSP staff to get to know principal investigators (PIs) and departmental administrators more closely and to develop procedures that work most effectively for that unit.

“Another benefit is that PIs will be able to work with the same core group of administrators over time. Within OSP, the combined teams allow for more efficiency between the proposal submission and award stages of the process by eliminating unnecessary handoffs.”

Feel free to contact Andrew Sprecher at or X3-2258.
