Each year it seems that the threats to cyber security continue to grow, and 2017 was no exception with a record number of data breaches, including big industry names such as Equifax and Deloitte. But with each breach, new information is learned and new safety precautions can be put in place. So what should business professionals be on the lookout for in 2018? According to these predictions, ransomware is expected to continue to rise in 2018 due to its ease for criminals to collect a profit. In addition, IoT interconnectivity is another area of concern. With the large number of users, this makes it a good target. Finally, it is predicted that new regulations may allow breaches to come in through vendors. More attention to vendor security and how vendors are using company data will become more important as companies look to improve their security.
