The School of Business Office of Career Services is committed to providing the highest level of career related support and services to all of our students and strategic partners. Our office serves all undergraduate and graduate students, as well as all School of Business alumni. Our alumni benefit from lifetime career support through our office.
We offer services including resume and cover letter critiques, interview prep and mock interviews, internship and job search advice, major-related career advice, career workshops, as well as multiple career events. As a stand-alone office and team dedicated to assist School of Business Students, we work in partnership with University Career Services, the centralized career center.
We welcome the partnership between faculty and our office. Faculty members serve as valuable resources and knowledge pools that our students rely on. Below are some services we provide to our faculty:

Employer Connections: At this time, we do not promote employers individually reaching out to faculty in School of Business classes. We take our academic responsibility seriously and prefer employers attend student organization meetings or Career Services events. Career Related Industry Data: Are you looking for area industry trends or facts but are unable to find it? Our office has extensive knowledge when it comes to employment figures, salaries, top companies, and cutting edge trends. How to refer a student to Career Services: When referring students to our office, please direct them to call our office at 703-993-2140 or email us at email@example.com to have their questions or needs addressed. Our team offers both walk-in hours and appointment slots. We work with students to accommodate their schedules and can conduct phone, Skype, or in-person after business hour meetings.
How to refer an employer to Career Services: If an employer reaches you directly to advertise a job or internship, please forward the message to our office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We will connect with the employer to verify the position and outline our Employer Recruitment Policies. After speaking with the employer, we will post the position on either Handshake, Business Buzz, or send a targeted email to students.
Note: We do not keep a list of “top” students to give to employers nor do we give out students’ resumes to employers (except in special cases). Faculty members should contact our office before sending employers student information.
As a faculty member, you can support the career aspirations of your students and graduates and complement the work of career services offices on your campus. Helping students in their job and internship searches can sometimes raise unanticipated legal or ethical issues, and this short guide is intended to provide you with guidance in areas that you may encounter. Please note that this guide is not all encompassing: You should contact your institution’s legal counsel if you have concerns on how to address a particular issue.
