Mr. Kotila is an experienced trial attorney in federal courts throughout the United States having engaged in numerous jury trials in multiple jurisdictions. Currently, Mr. Kotila enforces the federal criminal tax laws, primarily in the Eastern District of New York.  Mr. Kotila was previously a trial attorney in the U.S Department of Justice's Environmental Crimes Section prosecuting environmental offenders throughtout the United States, including Alaska.  As an Assistant District Attorney in New York, Mr. Kotila engaged in multiple state-level jury trials involving white collar and street crime. Prior to his work as a litigator, Mr. Kotila practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, conducting certified audits as well as engaging in federal, state and local tax work for a PricewaterhousecCoopers.
