Which Business Graduate Degree is Right for Me?

There are many factors you should consider when choosing a business graduate degree: format, location, specializations, quality of faculty, career services support, and so on. Below is a snapshot of the business graduate degrees we currently offer.

MS in Management You’re a recent liberal arts, sciences, or engineering graduate facing a tough job market. The MS in Management teaches business fundamentals that complement your undergraduate studies making you more attractive to potential employers and providing management skills to quickly advance in your chosen field.

MS In Accounting You're looking to advance your role at an accounting firm or transition into the accounting industry and become a certified CPA. The MS in Accounting program emphasizes the latest trends in accounting, business ethics, and corporate governance.
  • An earned baccalaureate degree in accounting; or 
  • Applicants who have completed 27 college credits in accounting.
  • Please note: Applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than accounting from an accredited institution may apply to the MS in Accounting provisional program.

MS In Real Estate Development You're an experienced real estate professional that is looking to advance your career growth. The MS in Real Estate Development provides you with the developer's perspective on relevant issues including civil engineering, finance, and public policy while also preparing you to take a leading role.

MS In Technology Management You're a technology management professional wanting to transform your knowledge and vision into strategic action. The MS in Technology management develops your knowledge of business fundamentals and provides you with critical tools for managing the IT function in any organization.

Business Analytics You're looking to further develop your data analytics skills for your current leadership role. The Certificate in Business Analytics will provide you with the necessary methodologies and techniques to analyze data for business insights.

  • An undergraduate or graduate statistics or business analytics course OR special approval from the Graduate Programs Admissions Committee based on evidence of statistics proficiency.

Business Fundamentals You're a current graduate student or professional wanting to complement your skills with a business credential. The Certificate in Business Fundamentals provides you with the essential leadership tools needed to take the next step in your career.
  • A U.S. equivalent bachelor degree from an accredited college or university.

Accounting Analytics You're a current accounting student or working professional who wants to enhance their current accounting skills. The Certificate in Accounting Analytics pairs your accounting knowledge with that of data analytics.
  • Applicants are required to have, at a minimum, a U.S. equivalent bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Have completed courses equivalent to Mason’s ACCT 351 (Taxation and Managerial Decision Making) and ACCT 461 (Assurance and Audit Services).

Forensic Accounting You're a current student or accounting professional looking to move into an auditing position. The Certificate in Forensic Accounting provides you with the skills needed for investigative accounting.
  • Applicants are required to have, at a minimum, a U.S. equivalent bachelor degree from an accredited college or university.
  • The program is open to individuals holding degrees in any major although degrees in accounting are preferred.

  • Have completed Intermediate Accounting (ACCT 331 or Mason equivalent).

Global IT Leadership You're a current student or IT professional who wants to apply their skills on a global scale. The Certificate in Global IT Leadership will enhance your knowledge of the intersection of business and technology globally.
  • Applicants must have an understanding of business fundamentals. Sufficient evidence would include one of the following: Undergraduate business degree or business minor, graduate business degree, or special approval from Program Director based on nature of work experience.

IT Strategy and Digital Transformation You're a current IT professional who wants to lead a digital transformation at their current company or in the future. The Certificate in IT Strategy and Digital Transformation will develop your skills in digital transformation strategy.
