The George Mason University School of Business has partnered with Brown & Brown Insurance since 2008 in bringing campus audiences engaging, timely, and thought-provoking speakers through the Brown & Brown Speaker Series. Now the longest running speaker series at the university, 40 prestigious leaders have already taken the stage including Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Co-Founder of Cisco Systems Sandy Lerner, and CFO of Travel Channel Kellie Goldstein among many others.

Through the series, the School of Business further demonstrates that they are at the center of one of the nation’s most vibrant business communities. “Continuing our support of the Speaker Series is something we are very pleased to do,” says President of Brown & Brown Bill Strachan. “Our commitment to giving back to our local communities and helping students and the business community get to know and work with each other is a key part of the plan to give back to the communities we work and live in.”

Even though Brown & Brown Insurance has expanded from the original two-person agency at its founding in 1939 to now having offices in more than thirty states, they still exhibit a small company attitude, providing service at the local level. They have been ranked by Business Insurance Magazine as the seventh largest independent insurance intermediary. With access to virtually all forms of insurance protection, their locally based insurance professionals have full knowledge of the conditions that their clients face.

The School of Business is excited to announce that the next speaker of the Brown & Brown Speaker Series will be Five Guys Vice President of Marketing and Communications Molly Catalano, MBA ’08. The alumna is set to speak during a virtual event on November 18. Chief People Officer at Snap Inc (Snapchat) Lara Sweet, BS Accounting ’97, will speak in spring of 2021.
