Mason Online Program:
In the School of Business, we want to make our programs accessible for many students, including those who do not reside in Fairfax and/or cannot make it on campus for courses due to work requirements. At this time, the management major/concentration is the only one that is offered fully online. Students in this program are expected to take all courses online that are being offered fully online
For current students:
If you are a current Mason student and would like to switch into to the management major or concentration fully online, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Have 45 or more earned credits
- Be in Good Academic Standing (2.0 GPA or above)
- Have successfully completed at least one semester at GMU
If you meet the above requirements, you would then need to complete the required paperwork to make the request to switch your program fully online. Email email@example.com to ask for the appropriate documents.
Deadlines for switching to the Management Online Program:
Fall semester: August 1st
Spring semester: January 1st
**Due to limited course offerings and no guarantee of online courses in the summer semesters, students will only be able to request to switch in to the online program for the fall or spring semester.
For incoming students:
Please refer to Admissions' website for information regarding the application process, deadlines, and admission requirements. Keep in mind that the management online program is designed for students who work full time, and/or live outside of the Fairfax/Northern Virginia area, and are transferring in a significant amount of credit. Incoming students with admission related question can also email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due to the limited offerings of the online program, a School of Business Academic Advisor will need to register you in your business courses. There is no guarantee that all required courses outside of the School of Business will be offered online.
Students in the online program are limited to a maximum of 2 in-person courses throughout their academic career at GMU. If online students register for more than 2 in-person courses, they will be asked to coordinate the correct sections with their advisor.
