Global Residency: A Quantum Leap

You will find the coursework rigorous and stimulating, but some of the best learning will take place miles from the Mason campus—in another part of the globe. An integral part of the Mason Masters in Accounting is our Global Residency Program.

The Global Residency: ACCT 795 - Global Accounting Environment

Your Mason MSA is designed to assist you in gaining professional accounting skills in the competitive global arena. Each component of the program explores the role of accounting in the complex global economy and examines the risks and opportunities inherent in global commerce.

This commitment is underscored by the global residency (ACCT 795 - Global Accounting Environment). This required three-credit course includes a week-long international study tour led by an MSA professor. You meet business and government leaders, participate in seminars, meet professors and MSA students from other universities, and visit local and/or multi-national accounting firms.

The global residency is offered during module 4, and can be completed at the end of your first or second semester in the program. While venues change with the world economy, past residencies include London, Prague, and Frankfurt. Some travel costs, such as lodging, meals and ground transportation, are included in your tuition. Students are responsible for airfare to and from the country.
