From it’s humble beginnings as the Department of Business Administration in the School of Continuing Studies at George Mason University to the newly named Donald G. Costello College of Business, the business school has come a long way.
1977
School of Business Administration was founded
Classes were first held in the old Fairfax City High School building in 1977.
1998
Renamed as School of Management
From this milestone forward, Enterprise Hall was built, and we proudly earned AACSB Accreditation.
2014
Renamed as School of Business
This Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was established, fueling the growth of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
2023
Renamed as the Donald G. Costello College of Business
The Donald G. Costello College of Business was named in honor of entrepreneur and businessman Donald G. Costello.
