The Costello College of Business at George Mason University is pleased to announce the 2024-2025 Graduate Students of the Year. These individuals exemplify the highest standards of academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to their field.

When she first moved to the region to begin her role at Kearney & Company, Megan Rosler, MS Accounting ‘23, had never heard of George Mason University before. In a similar situation, neither had Rebecca Kinzinger, MS Accounting ’24. For both, that all changed once they started working at the firm.

Receiving the Janis S. Reed Scholarship sharpened the focus even more for the goal-oriented Anh Tran. Wrapping up her final semester as an undergraduate student in accounting and completing the bachelor’s to accelerated master’s (BAM) program, she already had her eyes on the larger picture.

The Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars Program is collaborating with 25 colleges and universities across the country, including the Costello College of Business at George Mason University, to provide a limited number of scholarships for students interested in pursuing a fifth-year master’s degree in accounting for the 2026-27 academic year. The Costello College of Business online MBA program jumped 19 spots with a new ranking of #55 nationally for Best Online MBA (#41 among public universities) from U.S. News & World Report. In addition, the Online MBA Program jumped 16 spots from last year for Best Program for Veterans, landing at #34 nationally (#30 among public universities). This new ranking places the Costello online MBA program #1 in Virginia for veterans.

Maya Didier, originally from Burgandy, France, took a gap year to travel and improve her English when Covid hit and her plans were derailed. Through the INTO Mason program, Didier gradually integrated into George Mason, joining the MS in Accounting program at the Donald G. Costello College of Business. Didier, now a Student Ambassador for the master’s in accounting (MSA) program, chats about her journey, and why she chose George Mason’s MS in accounting program. 

The students’ trip to the headquarters showed them how they could apply what they have learned in the classrooms as future professionals, whether it be at the SEC or elsewhere.

By attending a ProfessionalQuest event at the Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University, John Joseph gained invaluable experience in networking and secured an internship in his field.

Shortly after transferring from Virginia Commonwealth University, Carrie He, BS Accounting ’20, MS Accounting ’21, felt the pull to change career paths and study accounting.
