The School of Business offers pre-orientation advising for transfer students only and is designed to be completed before the transfer new student orientation. Freshman students will receive advising and be able to register for courses on the day of their New Student Orientation so pre-orientation is not available at this time.
Transfer Pre-Orientation Advising
Transfer Pre-Orientation Advising is for new transfer students who have declared a Business concentration and have submitted their enrollment deposit. Once you submit your enrollment deposit, you will receive an e-mail with a link to fill out your interest in pre-orientation advising. You will then be added to Blackboard to complete a series of modules before moving forward with the pre-advising process.
In order to be added to the pre-orientation advising Blackboard modules, you must have your MasonLive student email account activated.
- Please follow the instructions on how to activate your account here
- If you need assistance activating your account, please contact George Mason University IT Services here
While pre-orientation advising is not mandatory, it is an opportunity to connect with an academic advisor before attending orientation to get a head start on reviewing how your classes transfer to Mason and selecting classes for your first semester.
It is important to note that pre-orientation advising does not take the place of the university’s new student orientation which you are still required to attend. If you have not already, you can register for Mason’s Orientation here. Keep in mind the pre-orientation Blackboard modules are intended to be completed BEFORE you attend your Mason Orientation.
