2021 SOAR With Us: Racial Equity and Belonging at Baker Tilly

At Baker Tilly, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIBS) is who we are, not what we do. Celebrating and embracing everyone’s individual uniqueness is essential to our success. Each of us brings a perspective shaped by our lived experience that influences how we can make our firm stronger and more equitable. SOAR With Us is an event designed to provide current students insight on the initiatives related to Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging focused explicitly on racial equity while learning about full-time and internship opportunities.

By participating in SOAR With Us, you’ll have an opportunity to:

  • Learn about our racial equity initiative of Supporting Opportunity, Advancement, and Recognition (SOAR) and much more
  • Learn how to be an effective change maker and how to protect your mental health in a state of social crisis through group discussions with Baker Tilly professionals and other students
  • Learn why you belong at Baker Tilly with the help of our DIBS Leader, Theresa Nickels  
  • Discover opportunities to jump-start your career

Candidates will be: 

  • From historically underrepresented racial or ethnic groups. Specifically, those who self-identify as Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino/Latinx, Native American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Indigenous, Multi-racial, or Other
  • Actively pursuing an accounting, finance, engineering, or IT-related degree
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the near future

Candidates will have: 

  • A preferred GPA of 3.0 
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and belonging within their school or community  
  • Excellent leadership skills 
  • Aptitude for teamwork  
  • Personal effectiveness and professionalism
