Membership Relations Intern at NVTC

The Northern Virginia Technology Council is looking for business interns for their summer internship program. Come gain experience with one of the nation’s largest technology councils and help serve companies from all sectors of the industry from small businesses and startups to Fortune 100 technology companies, as well as service providers, academic institutions, foreign embassies, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.

Essential Job Functions:

This position’s primary role is to continue to develop value for our existing members.  In addition, this role will build support both the Chief Growth Officer and the Senior Director of Member Experience.   Some of the day to day responsibilities will be the following:

  • Create marketing calendars for Business Partners and save in folders on Common Drive - Create marketing calendar reflecting all NVTC events by month (annual) and save on Common Drive
  • Create a “table” listing each NVTC event name, date and registration details in clear format to share with BPs & APs
  • Prepare first draft of meeting notes for Filling the Tech Talent Gap Committee meeting
  • Actively comment and support NVTC’s member companies on LinkedIn.
  • Communicate with our NVTC members to see if they need our assistance (add companies to the roster, need to be registered for events, have questions about their membership. 
  • Work closely with other interns on a group project This will require weekly meetings and collaboration to meet the goals of the project.  NVTC’s Director or Marketing will be overseeing this project. 
  • Research LinkedIn to add key contact information to member prospect companies. 
  • Research LinkedIn to add individual titles to member company employees in Glue Up.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program or high school senior, with a strong interest in Business, Finance, Economics or other related fields
  • Ideal candidates should have relevant business experience
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and the ability to use the complete MS Office suite
  • Exhibited desire to learn new concepts/techniques and apply knowledge
